WHO WE ARE

Here at Wild Woman Wildlife Rescue, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Wild Woman Wildlife Rescue was founded by Heather Bridges in 2019.  Heather has worked in zoos, animal parks, pet shops, dairy farms and held a number of conservation and land management related positions.  As a committed not for profit organisation we are determined to make an difference.

Our amazing team has over 60 YEARS OF EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE WORKING IN ANIMAL CARE AND WILDLIFE HUSBANDRY FEILD between us .

With over 200 plant and animal species, including our iconic cassowaries listed as threatened or endangered we believe our work is super important.  You can read all about threatened species and communities in the World Heritage Values section located on the Wet Tropics Management Authority Website.

Scientists conservatively estimate 100 million Australian native animals die every year as a result of habitat loss. Traffic accidents, introduced species/feral animals and domestic pets adding significant contribution to the death toll. However, many sick, orphaned or injured animals get a second chance because of people who care - people like you.

Wild Woman take on ALL Aussie Natives for this reason ;and have carers experienced in All Species such as Kangaroos, Wallabies , Pademelons , Possums and Gliders , bandicoots and rodents , dasryid , frogs, bats and echidnas.

Our team rescue, rehabilitate/raise and release over 200 animals every year. Thats alot of Wildlife!!!
